Magic happens here...
"Clue" rehearsals with leads/director (January 2020).
The Wooster High School Drama Club is a group of students, grades 8-12, that produce musical theatre and plays throughout the school year. Advisors and directors (Brett Hiner, Kristi Hiner, Rachel King, Elyse Mason, Brian Murphy & Chuck Armbruster) guide students through the school year, introducing all aspects of theatre. The club teaches students about technical work including lights, sound, costumes and construction. After an initial show meeting, audition information is posted and all high school students are encouraged to participate. Once a show is cast, the directors begin work on rehearsing everything from actor's lines and blocking, to the meaning of show and character analysis. Technical work begins early: designing the show's many sets and costumes, deciding how to publicize the production, requesting sponsorship from the community. Six to eight weeks later, the cast and crew are ready for audiences to come and enjoy all of their hard work. The Drama Club performs two or three times a year, with other events such as the Ohio Thespian Festival in late winter and the Wayne County Fine Arts Festival in the spring.
